It turns out that everything you need to know you may have just learned in kindergarten … or at least that is the case when it comes to naming a system like linkdip. Even kids in kindergarten know the concept of “bucket dipping”.

What incentive do I have to participate in linkdip?
Why would anyone ever give out a link, tweet or like on linkdip? linkdip is a system for exchanging ranking signals in the cloud. Current ranking signals include links, likes, tweets and diggs but more ranking signals are being added frequently. The linkdip system encourages people to tweet, like, link or digg your content – if it is relevant and good, exactly the same reasons that you would want to tweet, like or link to others content: quality.
More participation = more rewards.
linkdip is built on a system of points. The more points you earn the more likely you are to get activity on your own requests. The less you participate then the less likely you are to earn points and get activity on the keywords you need social media activity and links for.
What are the keys to success on linkdip?
- Build compelling content that others will be willing to link to, tweet and like.
- Participate! Retweet, like and give out links. The benefit goes both ways.
- Get more of your friends to join linkdip. The more friends you have the more activity you’ll get.
How do I earn points on linkdip and how do I use those points?
Giving links, tweets, retweets, likes and other ranking signals will earn you points on linkdip. The more active you are the more points you earn. Also, the more clout you or your sites have as measured by our algorthm the more points you earn for the activities you perform.
How do I get started with points?
You earn 100 points for signing up which should be enough to get started in the system. Once you connect to Twitter and Facebook you’ll earn points everytime you perform activity on one of those services. That’s right, everytime you tweet, you get a point. linkdip rewards you with points for the social media activity you already perform everyday.
Does the linkdip system measure influence when awarding points?
linkdip has built an open and transparent system for measuring the influence, search engine rakings, and clout of users and user web sites. This algorithm is designed to be crowdsourced and will change over time as the we gather feedback from the community and adjust the algorithm. Have an idea how to improve the algorithm? We encourage you to share it.

Can I buy points?
No. linkdip is designed to encourage people to participate actively and not just “buy” their way in. That said, it is possible to advertise with us, contact us for more detail.
