Who is behind linkdip?
The people behind linkdip are a couple of MBA’s who have made it a goal to:
- enable humans to easily review content and vote for what they like
- share knowledge about ranking signals that search engines currently
- show how sharing these ranking signals with others creates web currency
- create an efficient marketplace for crowd-sourcing and trading web currency
- nurture and foster free market principles inside the marketplace

What exactly is linkdip and what is “web currency”?
linkdip is the only marketplace on the web where people can acquire and exchange all forms of “web currency”. Web currency is anything that the search engines deem as relevant when it comes to ranking a site. Currently web currency consists of items such as links, likes (Facebook), tweets (Twitter), diggs (Digg) and sphinns (Sphinn).
Web currency is always changing. As the search engines evolve, web currency changes and how much value they put on any particular item of web currency may also change. For example, links used to be *everything* but social media has changed that.
Now not only do links provide ranking signals to the search engines, but so do social mentions such as tweets, likes, diggs and sphinns.
linkdip operates on the bucket dipping philosophy: you can’t take out more than you put in. It is designed to make it as simple as possible to fill your own bucket with web currency and redeem that currency with others as they fill their buckets. In the context of a marketplace where everyone is required to put more in than they take out… the web becomes a better place.

Why is linkdip relevant?
linkdip is the only place on the web that you can acquire “web currency” and capitalize on that web currency for your own properties. Some people might call it Search Engine Optimization, we call it simply doing good things for others and in return getting more back than you put in.
The concept is somewhat revolutionary because up until now, there was not a central marketplace where you could acquire and exchange web currency. Until we launched linkdip there were two groups of people on the web: those that had web currency and wouldn’t share it with others and those that didn’t have web currency and didn’t know how to get it.
With the launch of linkdip, now all people can know exactly how to acquire web currency and are free to exchange their web currency with others to improve the visibility of the things they care about such as websites, blogs, Facebook fan pages or whatever else they want.
How do I start using linkdip?
